Laughing Horse Camden presents…Tony Bournemouth @ The Crown & Goose Wed Nov 16th 8pm

Tony Bournemouth is the creation of the legendary Jimbo, himself a comic with 20 years experience on the circuit.

Jimbo has channeled his trademark anarchic energy into the character of Tony Bournemouth, a classic old school comic hilariously struggling through his act of snappy one-liners in the twilight of his career.

Jimbo’s brilliant timing, playfulness and physical comedy bring to life a truly funny portrait of an act going beautifully wrong. Plus top puns.

One part Norman Wisdom, one part Neil Hamburger and three parts Tarby, this is great character comedy.

“Jimbo is something of a legend… He is a real character too. A man in latish middle age on a scene dominated by the young… a real personality.” Chortle

The Indelicates @ The Camden Head, Fri 18th November £6/£5

The IndelicatesFormed in late 2005, The Indelicates have rapidly been establishing themselves as one of the most exciting new bands to come out of the UK.

Essentially the joint project of Simon Indelicate (formerly a performance poet and author of ‘The Book Of Job: The Musical’ and Julia Indelicate (an acclaimed documentary photographer) The Indelicates are a five piece, piano and guitar-led pop/rock act from Sussex, UK. Taking their musical cues from folk and classical sources - as well as the broad spectrum of British indie rock, they write melodic, edgy and intellectually coherent songs that have been consistently well-received in the UK and abroad.

“…I was hooked in one, as they took apart, with bitter grace, the media /academic obsession with and delight in the downfall of stars and idols.”
NEIL GAIMAN (Author of Coraline, The Sandman Comic series)

“Neo-Brecht/Weill theatricality? Check. Profane razor strop wit? Check. Irreverent misanthropy? Check. Scathing socio-cultural critiques? Check. Acid sweet indiepop songcraft? Check. Meet the fabulously unfashionable, unfashionably fabulous Indelicates.”
ROLLING STONE

“It’s impossible to overstate how much music today needs The Indelicates; in our darkest hour, hope may yet be at hand” THE FLY

This Saturday we shall be turning the terror factor up to 666 for some ghoulishly grand shenanigans. Not only will we be coercing your feet to funk it like Harry Belafonte on speed with some devilishly grand film anthems, we shall ALSO be terrorizing you with some some completely undanceable horror filled scores.

See if you can spot them for prizes.

If you hear Halloween, Exorcist, The Omen or your ears pick up on any other terror driven movie theme come to the DJ booth, give us the film title, and walk away with a frighteningly marvellous prize.

This year, we are also introducing the THRILLER DANCE OFF!!!

That’s right. Being that Michael Jackson’s excellently eeire video for his terror tinged track ‘Thriller’ was long enough a fookin’ brilliant enough for us to class as a short movie in itself, we shall be stopping the clocks at midnight for all who walk the dancefloor to learn that famous dance.

More prizes for the finest living dead dancers.

FURTHER MORE WE ARE ALSO HANDING OUT SPECIAL PRIZES FOR THOSE DRESSED AS THEIR FAVOURITE “LIVING DEAD” ACTORS!

That’s right! Let us bring back Swayze. Reincarnate Hopper. Breath life into Ledger. Welcome back Monroe, Murphy and McQueen.

And all holler the tribal cry - DEAN IS NOT DEAD!!!

For one night only - these people shall walk the earth one more!

(p.s. Special round of applause to anyone that manages to pull off Brad Renfro - not literally of course)

PLUS FREE ZOMBIE FACE PAINTING SO NOBODY LOOKS TO HEALTHY!

All this and more with the biggest, finest, and loudest movie soundtrack night in London!

***

NOW GO TO OUR WEBSITE FOR TICKETS, PICTURES AND OTHER MALARKEY AND TO BOOK AN AREA FOR YOUR PARTY!!!

http://www.soundtracksclub

There you can sign up to the SOUNDTRACKS MAILING LIST and you can get in for a pitiful £1! Yes ONE ENGLISH POUND!

***

OOOOOH!!! IT’S HENRY WINKLERS BIRTHDAY!!!

That’s right - THE FONZ grows old too!

This should please us all so let us celebrate this.

Also, Mr Winkler appeared in Wes Craven’s masterpiece Scream, didn’t he. How spooky - being Hallowe’en and all. Hmmmmmmm…strange things are afoot!

***

General info…

The pleasure machine that is Camden’s finest and most popular nights out is carreering round the corner at a speed of 88mph, carrying with it in the back seats a gaggle of Bratpackers, Pratpackers, Ratpackers and Fratpackers.

Oh yes!

Remember when Grandpa announced that he never could stand “All the damn vampires”?

When David Bowie was reminded of the babe?

When all Ms Pfeiffer needed was a rider that’s cool?

When Danny Laruso was the Best Around?

Maybe when Marty Mcfly instructed the band to “Follow me for the changes”.

Or when, despite his apearance at this function, he remained and always would be…a Duck man.

Now…STOP THINKING OF THE MUSIC!

Can’t can ya? Course not!

Soundtracks brings you all your favourite movie themes. In fact, it simply is THE BEST MOVIES EVER…without the talky bits.

Come jive to Dirty Dancing, Ferris Bueller, Pulp Fiction, Grease, Pretty In Pink, Lock Stock, St Elmo’s Fire, The Commitments, Superfly, Top Gun and all their many many friends.

Doors 8pm - 2.30am

MAKE SURE YOU ARRIVE EARLY! (Busyness occurs…we warn you of this so you may avoid Risky Busyness in fact)

Now make sure you don’t forget.

Because as we all know - “Life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop to look around once in a while - you might just miss it.”

xx

p.s. Soundtrack of The Week on Hallowe’en iiiiiiiis…The Gonk from Dawn of The Dead. Written by Herbert Chapelle, this spooky and terrifying carnival like jangle partnered the ending credits perfectly to end one of the finest horror movies ever made.

God bless you Romero
